Signs of the Times

Let us realize that the world Christ [Jesus] had to deal with was a world very much like our own, and that his way of dealing with it, which we have so little understand, must be our pattern in our dealing with the world today. And if we can do that is it not possible that out of this apparently hopeless reaction towards nationalism, there may come a conception of peace far finer, far richer, far more civilized than anything we have yet experienced? God grant that it may be so, and may He grant also that we may play our part in putting that conception before the world.
