I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I...
I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science, which was presented to me in 1905. Many wonderful healings and demonstrations of the power of Truth have I experienced since that time.
In 1914 I took the office of prosecuting attorney; this, of course, required much exercise of the voice in arguments to the court and juries. Some time previous to taking up the duties of the office I had almost completely lost my voice. It became a great effort for me to talk at all, and I was sorely handicapped in my work. I called on a Christian Science practitioner, and through her help I was completely healed, though the healing was slow, no doubt due to my depending too much on the practitioner's work and neglecting my own. I do not know what the trouble would have been called, perhaps paralysis of the vocal cords. It matters not what mortal mind would name it, for it was completely destroyed through the operation of divine Love. I am deeply grateful for this healing.
I have had many other wonderful healings, physical, moral, and financial, for which I am truly grateful. Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 296), "The so-called pleasures and pains of matter perish, and they must go out under the blaze of Truth, spiritual sense, and the actuality of being."
