[Original testimony in German]
Deep gratitude for the wonderful blessings I have received...
Deep gratitude for the wonderful blessings I have received in Christian Science impels me to offer this testimony.
In 1931 my husband passed on, and three months later my daughter also went suddenly. It seemed impossible to overcome the sense of separation, but in my great need God led me to Christian Science, wherein, through my earnest study, I very soon found great blessings.
At one time during the spring housecleaning I fell backwards off a table. I felt greatly nauseated and was in severe pain. I went to my room and tried to reject this error. In a short time, in spite of the seeming pain, I went on with my work. A practitioner lovingly gave me help, and in a few days the pain was gone.
Through sorrow for the loss of my loved ones, the belief that my eyesight was growing dimmer held me in bondage, and I thought I should wear glasses. But through the wonderful teaching contained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I came to see that our sight, our vision, is a God-bestowed faculty, and is not subject to weakness or impairment. This error, too, has yielded to Truth.
One day I was working among my plants, one of which was a cactus. A thorn penetrated my finger. I paid no attention to it, but the finger began to swell and I was in pain. I struggled with this error, and in this case, too, Truth was victorious, without my applying any material remedies.
Sixteen years ago I had paralysis of the vocal cords. Later, I was inclined to cough if I sang, and I really felt that I could not sing at all. Through the understanding of Christian Science I am free from this bondage. One night I awoke with a condition of sickness and severe headache. I declared the truth about my real self and clung to "the scientific statement of being," as given on page 468 of thetextbook. This condition yielded to Truth in a short time. For all these proofs of Truth's healing power I am sincerely grateful to God, and to the Way-shower, Christ Jesus; also to our revered Leader for this beautiful teaching and her writings, as well as her poems, through which she has given so much to humanity. I am also sincerely grateful to the practitioner and to all those working in the vineyard of Christian Science.
