A recent careful check on the subscriptions to the Christian Science...

A recent careful check on the subscriptions to the Christian Science literature being mailed direct from The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston to those interested within the state prisons, finds nearly every recipient expressing profound gratitude for the literature. The following interesting letter has been received from the superintendent of one of the most prominent state correctional hospitals: "I assure you that The Christian Science Monitor is deeply appreciated by many of our patients and I am hopeful that the policy of providing this newspaper for our patients can be continued. I have always felt that the Monitor was an excellent type of newspaper for institutional wards and I can state from experience that it is deeply appreciated."

The following literature is being sent into the prisons on a regular subscription basis: 178 Monitors daily; 62 Sentinels weekly; 250 Quarterlies each quarter; 19 Journals and 1 Le Heraut monthly. These are being mailed to the following institutions, in addition to those listed above where services are being held: Auburn Prison Farm; Attica Prison; Wallkill Prison; Bedford Hills Reformatory for Women; Matteawan State Hospital, Beacon; Institution for Defective Delinquents, Napanoch. There is a growing demand for copies of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and inquiries are constantly being made by those within the walls who are interested in knowing something of the truth that heals.
