With the most heartfelt gratitude for the many blessings...
With the most heartfelt gratitude for the many blessings which I owe to Christian Science I send this testimony. I came to Science as a last resort, having suffered for seven or eight years with an internal trouble, which caused me intense pain and sickness, and which had reduced me to a condition of nervous prostration to which I felt death would have been preferable.
I knew people who attributed their health and happiness to Christian Science, and I thought I would see if it could do anything for me. I began to study the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and to have help. Although my healing was slow it was sure, and for many years I have not had the slightest recurrence of the former trouble.
Like all students of this exact Science, I found that mortal mind and body being one, as our Leader tells us, in order to demonstrate true health our whole mentality or character has to change, and to conform more and more to the standard set up by the Founder of Christianity. I also found that when I ceased to argue about Mrs. Eddy's statements and began to accept them just as she gives them in our textbook, my healing progressed much more rapidly. I have been healed of many minor ailments—of colds, influenza, hay fever, and weak instep, and also of less tangible complaints, such as apprehensiveness, depression, and extreme sensitiveness.
