One of the requirements of Christian Science is obedience
One of the requirements of Christian Science is obedience I have experienced several healings through being obedient to the "still small voice." One of these healings, which occurred over ten years ago, was that of the need of wearing glasses, which had seemed a part of me for fifteen years. Just previous to this healing I was having trouble with my eyes, and, although I had been interested in Christian Science for several years, I did not seem ready for healing through spiritual means. I therefore arranged to go to an eye specialist. However, the evening before I was to go to him I decided to call on a practitioner. I told her of my plans and asked her to help me so that I would do what was right for me to do. Treatment was immediately given, and when I left the practitioner told me to listen for the "still small voice" and I would be led to do what was right. After dinner that evening I took up my books to read, and just before starting I seemed to hear a command to take off the glasses, which I did. I then read that week's Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. I did not call on the specialist the next morning, as I had been instantaneously healed. Since this healing I have had to use my eyes constantly at business, and have also been able to do very fine sewing.
I have had many physical healings through the application of the truth as taught in Christian Science, for which I am very grateful; but I am more grateful for the sense of peace that is ever with me even though there may seem to be a physical or mental problem to be worked out. I am also grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower; for Mary Baker Eddy; and that the glorious truth of Christian Science is going out into the world to bless all mankind.
