The writer is just one more of those thousands who stand as living proof of the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 1), "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." My experience may help some to see the truth of the statement in Hebrews, "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword."
In the fall of 1926, eleven members of the medical profession pronounced me a victim of tuberculosis of the lungs, together with one of its complications considered most hopeless, tuberculosis of the larynx. After struggling along for four months under the so-called material laws thereof, I turned to Christian Science and was blessed with an instantaneous healing.
The manner in which I was led to Christian Science, and in which its healing truth permeated my consciousness, has always seemed interesting. Living at the time under the regime of materia medica, I was spending my time in bed and in the open air. Conversation seemingly being impossible, the majority of my waking hours were spent in reading.
