With the Psalmist I can say, "I will speak of thy testimonies...

With the Psalmist I can say, "I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed." Indeed, I cannot longer withhold an expression of my gratitude, for the truth has changed my whole outlook on life.

In 1910 I was a sick, suffering woman with small hope of recovery. I had treatment in three hospitals from seven doctors (two of whom were specialists), all of no avail. I often prayed long and earnestly to understand God aright and know that He would heal and restore me to my family. The case was diagnosed as a cancerous growth in the lower part of the body, with an ulcerated stomach and inflammation, also an inherited belief of a weak heart. Three members of our family had passed on suddenly.

My concept of God was wrong until a very dear friend told me that He neither made nor sent sickness, disease, and death. She left me a copy of The Christian Science Journal with a definite assurance of full freedom, quoting the Bible passage, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." I purchased a copy of Science and Health. What a revelation this was to me—indeed an unfoldment of God as Love. With the help of a practitioner I was soon healed and free. My thoughts, instead of being constantly on my material body, were turned to God, my Father-Mother, and to the real man. I had no need to be wheeled in a bath chair as formerly, but could walk and leap, "praising God." I cannot describe the joy the healing brought to my home, to my husband and five children. Impatience, irritability, and faults of character were gradually overcome. Fear of sudden death was also overcome.
