About ten years ago, after long, earnest effort on the part of a physician and specialist had failed to effect a cure, I became much discouraged and disheartened, and as a last resort turned to Christian Science for help. Having known of cases which were healed through the treatment of a practitioner, I decided to try this Science.

Attending the services of a Christian Science church was the first step. There I met a practitioner, and I applied for treatment. My ideas about Christian Science were quickly changed when I was told that its healing prayers were declarations of truth, the truth that heals. My convictions were completely reversed when the practitioner stated that God, the only creator, found all that He created good; and since He made man in His own image and likeness, man could express or reflect nothing unlike good. So that disease, if created by God, must be good, in which case it would be wrong to destroy it, or else it must be a nonentity with no existence in truth.

At once, then, it dawned upon me that I could not be afflicted with a disease called diabetes, since a child of God, whose realm is good itself, could manifest only His attributes, among which are health and happiness. Treatment was begun, and in less than a week I realized suddenly that I was free. A great load had quickly been lifted from me; and instead came a sense of great peace, that peace "which passeth all understanding."
