On Upward Wing

As sings the lark on upward wing,
Trilling his joy for all to hear,
So would I sing, my Lord and King,
Of all Thy love and care.

How, as I went upon my way,
And life seemed dull—a joyless view,
The heavenly message came to say:
Your Father cares for you.

Then, as I went, the path I trod
Grew brighter, and the way more clear,
The doubts and fears, obscuring God,
Grew less, and I could hear.

I learned to touch the seamless dress,
To know the Christ; to see and feel,
And with my lips the truth confess,
The power of God can heal.

Oh, Father-Mother, God, we give
All praise to Thee; for Thou art All.
May we, Thy children, ever live
To hear, and love Thy call.
