Bury Times

A correspondent writing in a recent issue of your paper says that the teachings of Christian Science are different from those of the Bible. I can but repeat that they may appear to him to be different only because of his sense of what the Bible teaches. To the Christian Scientist they are absolutely in conformity with the Bible, and they confirm the Bible, because the results which follow them, as Jesus said should be the case, are the same as those which followed when the Bible teachings were first given.

Today Christian Science is healing the sick, freeing men from sinful thoughts and habits, bringing faith and confidence and courage to the depressed and discouraged, and dispelling discord and in harmony with its divine harmony.

The Christian Scientist feels he could ask for no greater proof than this that his views are in accord with the Bible. He humbly recognizes, however, that he has yet very much to learn of Truth and Love, so he spends much time in the study of the beloved Bible, praying with the Psalmist, "Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law;" and as a result he is ever gaining new views of the goodness and love of God.
