With a great sense of gratitude, and with unmeasured appreciation of the inspiration and help I have had from the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I am happy to add to the already overwhelming proof that Christian Science heals, and that the understanding of this Science is the "pearl of great price," which, if rightly used in daily living, will overcome any inharmonious condition in human experience.

One of the first of my many physical healings was of a sprained back, resulting from moving some heavy furniture. I was scarcely able to move about at all, could not stoop over or lift anything, and the pain was severe and constant. After suffering for several days, I was sitting in my room, looking at a photograph I had just received from a friend who was a Christian Scientist. As I looked at the picture I thought, Oh, I wish she were here to help me. Instantly came the thought that God is always here, and He is the source of all help. With this realization, I was instantaneously healed of every vestige of pain and soreness. At the same time I was permanently healed of constipation, from which I had suffered for years, having tried all sorts of material remedies with no benefit.

It would be impossible to tell of the invaluable help Christian Science has been in the years of companionship with a young daughter. During her babyhood, our daughter was seldom free from illness of some sort. We were often in despair, and relatives, we learned later, confided to one another that they thought we should "never raise her." It was when she was almost four years old that Christian Science came to me in a most beautiful way and changed my whole life. From that time on we needed to feel no more concern for her health. Through my study of Christian Science I learned that she is, in reality, God's child, that she is in His care, and that "underneath are the everlasting arms." It was our task to help her understand God and the truth about God's creation. Christian Science not only has been our physician, dispelling any inharmony that has tried to appear, but has been of invaluable help to this daughter in her school work, in her relations with others, and in home life. We have also gratefully witnessed a most remarkable working out of a problem of supply.
