Die Auslese
Christian Science is a religion whose teachings are based on the Christianity which Jesus taught, lived, and demonstrated. Through the study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook a clear knowledge of the rules of Christian Science can be obtained and so be applied and proved in daily life.
The Bible says, "By their fruits ye shall know them." The numerous testimonies of healing which are published in the authorized Christian Science periodicals—in the English language in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, in the German language in Der Herold der Christlichen Wissenschaft, and in different tongues in the Scandinavian and Dutch Heralds—prove clearly the applicability and usefulness of Christian Science to those who approach the subject without prejudice. The healings reported there are carefully verified.
Christian Science leads mankind out of bondage, the slavery of matter, and the land of idolatry, and frees them from the tyranny of the Pharaohs—superstition, polytheism, and sensuality. Christian Science leads mankind as they flee from these tormentors through the Red Sea, the waves of human ignorance, fear, and limitation which assail them in the form of passions, animal instinct, and other evil beliefs. Christian Science leads them on through the wilderness of a materialistic view of life and feeds them in this wilderness of godlessness and despair, famine and want, with the manna of the knowledge of God and trust in Him, with new courage, vigor, and joy. It ends the worship of the golden calf of matter, and shows mankind the promised land, in which milk and honey flow—the kingdom of God on earth. There the law of harmony reigns and sin, sickness, and death are seen to be no part of God's law.
