Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude for Christian Science. I am glad, however, to offer this testimony in the hope that it may be an inspiration to someone seeking the light of spiritual understanding.

Some years ago, after three years of training in a nationally known hospital, I became a registered graduate nurse. At that time I realized that medicine and surgery were not infallible in the cure of disease, but I believed that those methods were the only safe recourse for healing. While I knew nothing of Christian Science, and was too prejudiced to investigate it, I felt that perhaps mental healing might be beneficial in nervous and mental cases, but not for organic diseases.

A year or so after the hospital experience I became ill with cystitis and received treatment from a specialist. He suggested that I have some infected teeth removed, which I did. Periodically from this time, the condition reappeared, becoming more serious each time, taking the form of kidney stones and later adhesions and other wrong internal conditions. Tonsils were removed, though the kind specialist told me that he could not promise that I would be better afterward, and another minor operation was submitted to, but soon afterward I was in a worse condition. Finally a major operation was suggested as the only way out.
