For the great good that has come to me since I began...

For the great good that has come to me since I began the earnest study of Christian Science I should like to express gratitude. I had been interested in this Science for several years, but as my parents were very much opposed to what they thought it to be, I did not get much opportunity to study. The seed had been sown, however, and I alays said that should I become sick I would turn to Christian Science. In a few years the testing time came. Sorrow and worry had broken my health in a few months, and I lost thirty-five pounds in less than six weeks. At this time I turned to Science in earnest, and with the help of a kind and understanding practitioner I was restored to health and happiness in a very short time, knowing that we do not rely on person, place, or thing for health or happiness, but upon God, who is an ever present help in trouble.

Other healings have been of a sprained ankle, colds, constipation, nervousness, fear of being alone at night either in the house or on the street, and nightmares with which I had been troubled since childhood.

Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and class instruction were added experiences for which I am grateful. I find that my growth spiritually has been so much greater since I because a member of the Christian Science organization. I am also grateful for our literature, for the lectures, and for all of Mrs. Eddy's writings, which, with the Bible, make it possible, through earnest desire, to grow more in grace and meekness, to know that God is ever present instead of afar off. My desire is to understand and put into practice this beautiful truth as taught in Christian Science.—(Miss) Golda Johnson, Los Angeles, California.
