It is impossible in a short letter to reply in detail to the letter of a clergyman in your issue of today.

Much that might be said has already been expressed in the friendly and broad-minded letters of the other correspondents. It is evidently understood that my object in writing is, not to criticize others who are striving to help suffering humanity, but to remove any misunderstanding of Christian Science teaching.

Mrs. Eddy states in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 151), "Great respect is due the motives and philanthropy of the higher class of physicians," and in "Christian Science versus Pantheism" (p. 13), "Love all Christian churches for the gospel's sake; and be exceedingly glad that the churches are united in purpose, if not in method, to close the war between flesh and Spirit, and to fight the good fight till God's will be witnessed and done on earth as in heaven."
