The station announcer made the statement: "This is the Church of the Air. The Christian Science period today is coming to you from Station WJSV in Washington, District of Columbia. This program is approved by The Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. It is conducted by Philip King, Christian Science Committee on Publication for the District of Columbia. The subject of Mr. King's address is 'Christian Science: The Way of Redemption through Spiritual Understanding.' The soloist is Mr. Henry Nestor, with Mr. Byron Blodgett at the organ. We now give the period into the hands of Mr. King." Three hymns, from the Christian Science Hymnal, were sung by the soloist, the first hymn being No. 148.

Mr. King then read an address as follows:

In these rapidly changing times when governments rise and fall, when old laws are discarded and new ones enacted, the question arises in many minds, What is government, what is law, stability, security, peace? These problems which today present themselves to the people of the world are not new. Similar experiences came to Jesus and the prophets before him. How did they meet them, and how are we to meet them? To find the answers to these questions a Christian Scientist naturally turns to the Bible and to the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
