The Path of the Perfect Day

As we view the ocean in the early morning hours it some-times seems to be a mass of skipping fire, each little wave capped with its sunbeam hurrying hither and yon, its sparkle typical of teeming activity. Later the rays seem to concentrate in a golden pathway direct from the sun to one's feet, a vista of restful action, poise, and purpose.

In the early morning of our spiritual enlightenment we wish to include the whole circle of our world within the scope of our activity. We would share our new-found blessing with all. On every side, among friends, relatives, and business associates, we are alert to their need of Christian Science. Sometimes we are rebuffed, are met with stolid indifference, or encounter an argumentative flare-up. All of these experiences teach us to garner our spiritual resources for a more fruitful sharing with receptive hearts; with those who are either walking this golden pathway with us or standing with willing feet, ready to enter the joyous march heavenward. We realize the power for good embodied in right, even though unspoken, scientific thoughts of God and man, and in this way we bless those who are as yet unresponsive to spiritual truth.

In the later hours of our progress we learn a contentment of spiritual possession. In the golden pathway there may appear to be obstacles thrown into high relief by the rays of Truth. Are we sometimes deeply impressed by the immensity of spiritual achievement as the infinity of Truth dawns more and more on our horizon? In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" our Leader has written (p. 510): "Truth and Love enlighten the understanding, in whose 'light shall we see light;' and this illumination is reflected spiritually by all who walk in the light and turn away from a false material sense." More and more we experience the God-bestowed infinite ability and opportunity to express man's spiritual individuality. We acknowledge less and less the handicaps imposed by false concepts of God and man. We yield less and less to counterattractions, distracting amusements, and all of error's allure.
