Today

Today is mine!
An opportunity supreme to do His will,
Forget this human sense of self, and be so still
That I shall recognize my Father's voice,
And in irradiance of Life rejoice!

Today is mine!
The truth to manifest in all its healing might,
To keep my gaze so fixed on heavenly light
That glorious visions of what is, and is to be,
Shall lift my thought to understand reality.

Today is mine!
To love my brother man, to give and give again
Of all the good I have, to banish fear and pain—
God knows them not; say lovely things and wise,
And wake the shining light of hope in tired eyes.

Today is mine!
And Life and Truth and Love are with me every hour,
The gentleness of Christ, its greatness and its power;
Today is here, is now, blest opportunity
For man to meet with man in peace and unity.
