With a grateful heart I give this testimony of my husband's healing through Christian Science. For a long while he suffered from severe headaches, nosebleed, and vomiting. In spite of these ailments he tried to attend to his work, but it soon became impossible to do so. The physician who was called diagnosed the condition as apoplexy of the brain, and said that he had arteriostosis and that small veins had burst because of the high blood pressure. We had to take him to a hospital. When no improvement was apparent even there, the physician proposed trying one last thing: that my husband go to a nerve clinic, where they would operate on his head and find out definitely what ailed him. The physicians suspected a tumor in the head. Thereupon I took my husband to the clinic. At that time we heard from kind friends about Christian Science and its great helpfulness. We turned to a practitioner and learned that God is the great Physician. Christian Science helped us at once. The physicians found nothing further when examination was made, and thus there was no need of an operation on the head. In the eye clinic, too, the physician expressed his astonishment that the nerves of the eyes were functioning again.
After three weeks I was able to take my husband home. There, somewhat slowly, progress was made in the complete healing. When, in spite of the previous good results, a relapse seemed to occur occasionally, doubts which arose had to be overcome through faithful holding to the truth.
We purchased the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and also subscribed to The Herald of Christian Science (German edition). We read earnestly, with the result that we continued to become firmer in our understanding. Today my husband is hale and hearty, and he is again working industriously in his bakery. His sight, which was weak, has greatly improved, and the sense of dizziness has entirely disappeared. For a long time he has experienced no further headaches. The other symptoms incident to this trouble have also disappeared, and my husband again is quite active and enjoys his work.
