I should like to add my testimony to the healing power of divine Love as taught and demonstrated in Christian Science. Several years ago I was not able to eat anything without experiencing a great sense of pain. I grew thin and helpless and, after trying several physicians, as a last resort I turned to Christian Science and was healed in a short time. I had to give up working before this healing came. After I was healed I began to work, and after saving a little money I started in the shoe business and am still in the same trade. I have applied this Science in all my dealings. There have been many problems to solve, but I have always solved them successfully.

I had an experience some time ago which meant much to me. While I was working at the shoe bench a sharp-pointed knife with a heavy handle fell and went right through a light shoe I was wearing, almost going through my toe. I had to pull to get it out. I at once knew that error did not come from God and that therefore no harm could come to me. I applied the truth as we are taught in the Bible and Science and Health. It was clear to me that the same God, Principle, that protected Daniel in the lions' den, the three Hebrews in the fiery furnace, and Paul from the poisonous viper, would protect me also. I took off my shoe and stocking and wrapped some white tissue paper around the toe, and went to work. The pain was severe for a few minutes, but I soon found relief. It took an hour to make this demonstration. All sorts of suggestions of fear came to my thought, but I stood firm and kept them out, and a beautiful healing was the result. I surely am thankful. "God is our refuge and strength," our help in time of need.

Recently I was taken ill with what appeared to be influenza and was confined to my home for a few weeks. Through Christian Science treatment I was healed, and have been working every day since. This was the first time I had been laid up since my first healing by Christian Science in 1893.
