Right Desire

BECAUSE my being everlastinglyIs in Thine image, and to do Thy willSustains me, for Thou gently leadest me,I know Thine omnipresence, and am still. My heart's desires I bring to Thee, O Lord,An unselfed offering, tender, loving, pure; For Thee to mold, to shape in deed and word:So that I may be absolutely sureThou guidest me, enabling me in loveTo help Thy children as my heart desires. And thus the furnace of my zeal may proveAglow with consecration, heavenly fires.Father, if such desires be of TheeI know that naught can hinder, naught destroy:I know that perfect and eternallyI, in my place, may serve with holy joy.All worldly hopes I willingly resign,For, living lovingly, Thy will is mine.
