I am sending out this message with an earnest desire to help someone as I have been helped.

I had always been a sufferer, and often prayed to die. Then for the second time I submitted to what was termed a serious operation. While lying in my bed in the hospital I had my first real desire to live. The operation caused conditions for which the physicians said there was no cure. They further said that I should always be a cripple, and that it might be necessary to remove the left leg. This report did not discourage me, but did cause me to fear doctors. I had always had implicit faith in God, and now I turned to Him for guidance to health. I knew He would lead me; I knew not how, but left it with Him. This was in June, 1915. I left the hospital July 3, and after that time had no more medical attention. Then in February, 1916, while I was in great need of help, a friend came to my door and on seeing my condition began to talk to me about Christian Science. As she talked I drank the "cup of cold water." I knew this was in answer to my prayer, as it was a message of Life, Truth, and Love, which Jesus taught and lived.

I started reading Science and Health, and in less than three months all the old burdens had vanished, and I was walking normally. There has been no return of the trouble. To tell of all the blessings in our home in the past eighteen years I should need to write a book. For the loving help of practitioners, for membership in The Mother Church, also a branch church, for the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and the many avenues which have been provided for us in this great Cause I am most deeply grateful. I am trying so to live each day that I may be a witness to this truth.—(Mrs.) CLARA M. DORN, Toledo, Ohio.
