Childlikeness

PHYLLIS BEAUFORT YOUNG

Just for the joy of a little child,
O Lord, I pray,
That I may greet with happiness
Each glad new day,
Knowing my Father-Mother Love
With me will stay.

Just for the trust of a little child,
O Lord, I pray,
That I may take God's outstretched hand
To find the way,
Knowing that He will understand
And lead alway.

Just for the love of a little child,
O Lord, I pray,
That I may grow so meek and mild
And Love obey,
Learning in sweet simplicity
God's gentle way.
