My life has been completely transformed since I have had the great privilege of knowing something of Christian Science.

Christian Science healed me of a disease of the spinal cord and of muscular atrophy, both diseases having been pronounced incurable by a number of eminent medical men. After trying every human remedy, including hypnotism, with no success, I took up the study of Christian Science at a time of great moral and physical depression, my body being at that time badly deformed and partially paralyzed.

My healing was slow, and the road from sense to Soul was often strewn with doubt, fear, and discouragement. Often I asked myself the following questions: Why is it so hard for me to make my demonstration? Have I not enough love for my fellow man? Does Christian Science cure certain diseases while it cannot heal my case? Thus unconsciously one may allow a thought of self-condemnation to weigh on him. Then it is time to wake up and know that all these wrong thoughts are but clouds trying to dim our understanding, and that they have neither power nor reality, for they are no part of the spiritual creation in which we live, and move, and have our being. It is by constantly affirming the ever-presence of God and by being more and more grateful because we know that the healing is there even if appearances do not seem to correspond to reality, that our consciousness becomes more receptive to Truth and we are able to prove that it is God who, as the Psalmist tells us, "forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases."
