Assurance

His arm around you, well beloved—
The Father's strong and shielding arm;
What evil thing can find you there,
What menace do you any harm?

Though fear and grief may dim the path
That mortal vision seeks in vain,
The watchful Shepherd of His own
Will lead the way and make it plain.

Doubt not He holds His children all
Within the safety of His care,
And sunny fields of plenitude
In righteous title each may share.

Look up, dear heart, His holy truth
Shines forth to bless both you and yours,
The light that lit the wilderness
For other pilgrims still endures.
