The Committee is happy to report steady progress during the past eight months in the Christian Science work carried on at the above-mentioned institutions, and this has been made possible by the loving support and cooperation received from the participating churches and societies and also from individual Christian Scientists.

The influence of the work and the good that is being accomplished at these institutions is apparent to those who come in personal contact with the inmates who have received help. Many cases of healing of both sickness and sin and many expressions of gratitude from the inmates have been reported to the workers.

All of the Christian Science periodicals, messengers of Truth, are permitted in both institutions. At the prison they are sent to the different cells and reach men who will read them, some of whom have not sufficient courage to come to the services. The worker, however, is able to keep in touch with the men who are really interested in Christian Science and desire help, through personal contacts each Saturday when he visits the prison for that purpose. During the past month four Sunday services were held at the prison with an average attendance of ninety-nine, and many interviews were held and Christian Science treatments given.
