For sixteen years I have been a student of Christian Science, during which time I have experienced many blessings and benefits in the way of physical and spiritual healing. I first became interested in this Science as a religion. I remarked to the friend who lent me her copy of Science and Health that I could accept it for its religious teachings but could not possibly rely upon it for physical healing. I struggled along with that belief for five years. Finally, as with all statements of error, it had to be proved false.
I had been a sufferer from a female disorder for some time, and finally was in such a weakened condition that I was compelled to go to bed. A doctor was called who, after a thorough examination, said that he could not account for the condition and that there was nothing he could do for me. Then, and only then, was I willing to rely wholly upon God for my help. I asked my husband, who felt kindly toward Christian Science but who also felt he could not rely upon it in sickness, to call a practitioner to our home. He very willingly did so, and she kindly responded. I arose from bed the next day and went with the practitioner to her home in a neighboring town. Upon arriving there we walked a mile from the station to her home. That seemed marvelous to me, as only the day before I had been too weak to raise my hands to my head. My husband was immediately convinced of the healing efficacy of Christian Science, and we both have been students of it since that time and have relied wholly upon its teachings for all our troubles.
Our little girl came into the world with the help of Christian Science. We cannot begin to express the gratitude we feel for Science. I am grateful for Mrs. Eddy, who has made known this great truth; for the privilege of membership in
