It is with deepest gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader that I wish to give this testimony. Before I came into Christian Science I was a nervous, inharmonious woman. I sought salvation in astrology, anthroposophy, and spiritualism, but nothing satisfied me. When at length God led me to Christian Science, I was very happy, for I knew I had at last found the saving truth.

After knowing of Christian Science for but a short time I became ill with a carbuncle at the nape of my neck. It soon became much enlarged, and as I had to present a certificate to the authorities I went to a doctor. He wished to operate on me at once. When I refused he said that the disease was very dangerous. However, I did not allow myself to be misled but went to a Christian Science practitioner, who declared the truth and gave me treatment. After a few days the carbuncle opened. My parents, who are not Christian Scientists, were greatly troubled about me, and in order to induce me to go to the doctor, they repeatedly tried to frighten me with the thought that I might die. Then I went again to the practitioner, who lovingly comforted me, so instructing me in the understanding of God's omnipresence that the fear left me. From that time on my relatives left me alone; and the purifying and healing of the wound began. It is impossible to describe how beautifully and harmoniously everything cleared, and how happy I was. Here I had a proof of the omnipotence and omnipresence of Truth and Love. My understanding was still very meager, but my trust in God was great, and so was my desire to prove my loyalty to Christian Science.

Besides this first healing I have had others, including one of inflammation of the eyes and wearisome headaches, which for years had tormented me every other day. For all these healings I am very grateful. I am also inexpressibly grateful for the assurance that God is ever leading me and guiding my every step. Thus I have become a happy, well woman.
