Among the Churches

Current Notes

Edmonds, Washington (First Church).—Dedication services for First Church of Christ, Scientist, of Edmonds, were held at the church edifice at Fifth and Bell Streets, Sunday, October 1, in the morning and afternoon. This church is a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

The simple but impressive services included the reading of an announcement expressing the deepest gratitude to God, and loyalty and obligation to Mary Baker Eddy, whose teachings, guidance, and assistance have made it possible for the membership to erect the building which was so lovingly dedicated. A brief outline of the history of this church covering its activities since the modest beginning on Thanks-giving Day, 1915, down to the present time was also read.

Having a seating capacity of about two hundred people, the building is of appropriate New England colonial design, with the main auditorium somewhat wider than it is deep. Rooms for the Readers are at each side of the rostrum, while the organ is located at the left of the congregation. Suitable rooms are provided on either side of the main entrance for the library, Literature Distribution Committee, Reading Room, and cloak room.
