New York Times

As reported in a dispatch, a clergyman, in referring to Mrs. Eddy, used language which is not only inconsistent, but unworthy and indefensible in a member of the Christian ministry, calling her "unholy." This attack can be accounted for only on the grounds that the speaker lacked correct information concerning her life and work.

Mrs. Eddy's life and the fruits of her teachings need no words of praise to substantiate their value. Her righteousness is exemplified by the Christian work of healing sin and sickness, as well as the founding of a great religious movement. This movement included the founding of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, which has today numerous branch churches throughout the world.

The universal and outspoken gratitude of men and women who have been healed and renewed spiritually, mentally, and physically by Christian Science, constitutes a testimonial far more expressive than words.
