Among the Churches

Current Notes

Barbados Advocate

Bridgetown, Barbados, British West Indies (First Church).—On Sunday, January 1, 1933, the Christian Science church in Barbados was dedicated. It is well known that no branch church of this denomination can be dedicated unless it is free of debt. A short history, telling of the beginning and development of the church, setting forth the remarkable growth that has taken place in the twenty-four years since its inception in 1908, was read at the eleven o'clock service by the First Reader.

The present building was purchased in November, 1927, and was remodeled. It is well equipped for worship, and has an atmosphere of reverence, simplicity, and dignity. There are attractive rooms where the Sunday school is housed. The building itself, of simple and impressive architecture, is well located in spacious grounds.—Barbados Advocate.
