"No respecter of persons"

Christian science, the great revelation of Truth to this age, unfolds the spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures and reveals God as divine Principle, Love, Spirit, and man as made in the image and likeness of God, hence spiritual. The full acceptance of this divine fact destroys the unreal beliefs hitherto held as true and inevitable. Indeed, this revelation of Truth opens the one and only way of escape from all erroneous beliefs and their attendant results. Mrs. Eddy tells us in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 492), that "for right reasoning there should be but one fact before the thought, namely, spiritual existence."

Is somebody believing that he is an unfortunate individual, bound to failure, inferiority, disease, or poverty; with lack of ability or opportunity? To one believing thus, the way must necessarily be dark, barren of hope, joy, and right attainments. It must also be void of the true understanding of God and man; for do we not frequently find that God is held responsible for all conditions?

Let us consider what is wrong. Perhaps one is holding a false concept of God, believing Him to be the creator of evil and unjust in His dealings with men. Another error which we may discover by searching thought is the belief of having inherited evil traits, deficiencies, or other untoward conditions from one's progenitors—all phases of the belief of having been born materially. These mistaken beliefs are found to be deterrents to the consciousness of harmonious existence, clouds which hide the truth of being. But let one who may believe he is in such bondage despair not, for our dear Master, Christ Jesus, gave us this assuring and comforting promise, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
