I have received many blessings and healings through the understanding and application of Christian Science, and I am happy to express my gratitude and testify to this healing power. I have often said that even if I never had a physical healing I could not be grateful enough for the spiritual understanding of the Bible, and of God, and man's relationship to Him, which Christian Science gives us. This spiritual understanding is indeed the "pearl of great price."
Christian Science came into our home about forty years ago through the healing of a brother who had been blind for two years, as the result of an accident, and had been pronounced incurable by many specialists, who agreed that the nerves of his eyes were dead and that he should never see again. At this time my mother heard of Christian Science, and at once she sought the aid of a practitioner, who lovingly took up the work for him. In about six months he could read the finest print. This brought great joy to all of us.
At that time I read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. I thought it wonderful; it was so reasonable, so logical. About two years after this, in talking to a friend, I realized that I had been healed of very severe nervous sick headaches. Most of my time had been spent in bed, and my life had been a burden because of this intense suffering; and it seemed marvelous that all these experiences could be so completely left behind. We have had many other beautiful healings. One member of the family was instantly healed of lameness; sinus trouble, a broken bone, colds, and a burn were also instantly healed; and other healings have been of influenza, diphtheria, and results of accidents.
