My desire is to show my appreciation for Christian Science...

My desire is to show my appreciation for Christian Science in my daily living. I am increasingly grateful for the privilege I had of attending the Christian Science Sunday School during childhood. The truths taught me then continue to bless me as I use them. The periodicals are a constant source of delight and encouragement. Our daily newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor, is indeed a blessing to all who seek clean, unprejudiced news and items of world interest. I am most humbly grateful for Mrs. Eddy and for her wonderful writings, including "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." The study of these books, together with the Bible, has never failed to heal me of whatever discordant beliefs I was entertaining. Words seem inadequate to tell of the joy and peace that have flooded my consciousness through the healing messages of Truth which I have found therein.

I am most grateful for the loving help I have always received from practitioners whom I have called upon for treatment. As a child I had many healings, and learned to help myself. When I was forced to enter the business world at a very young age I found that God had indeed gone before me, and many valuable lessons were learned. Through realizing that God is all substance and intelligence I was able to fill positions that had seemed far beyond my ability, and for which I was well paid. I have had many healings, among which are those of influenza, cuts, burns, sprained ankle, headache, and sore throat; and I am gaining increasing freedom from such sinful beliefs as resentment, jealousy, hatred, anger, and revenge. I have also found Christian Science a preventive as well as a curative agent.

Christian Science is the Comforter that Jesus promised us. The passing of several dear ones seemed difficult to bear, but through studying our Leader's works thoughts of sorrow gave way to peace. On page 66 of Science and Health she has written: "Trials teach mortals not to lean on a material staff,—a broken reed, which pierces the heart;" and further, "Trials are proofs of God's care." "Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us." When our little daughter left us, the test was most severe, but through the loving help of a practitioner, a mighty struggle on my part, and help received from a Christian Science lecture grief was finally healed.
