I am very grateful for a recent physical healing
I am very grateful for a recent physical healing. For several years I used a surgical appliance as a support. At the beginning of 1932 I decided that something must be done about it. I did not like the idea of a surgical operation and tried several times in my own way to realize the operation of divine Mind, but my understanding did not seem sufficient to meet the problem, so I sought the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly took up the work. I received much courage through the thought of Jesus' rising from the tomb in three days; and then I read a testimony of a case in which the testifier left off a surgical appliance, and was healed by radical reliance upon and trust in God. Although my healing was not complete in three days and I experienced several severe trials, I went on rejoicing in some overcoming, and was determined to carry it through.
The statement in the ninety-first Psalm, "He shall cover thee with his feathers," was a source of great strength to me, and I felt that His care was supporting me. I gradually trusted myself entirely to God's care, and now there is no sign of this physical condition. To show the completeness of this healing I will say that I have been able to stand at a concert for four hours, walk several miles, play tennis and gold, and can now go about my daily work without any material aid and without any discomfort.
For all the blessings I have received, for all the happiness in our home, I am most thankful to God; also to Mrs. Eddy for having taught us to realize by demonstration the wonderful Scriptural promises, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."
