In the "Medical Column" of your last issue, under the subheading "Mind and Matter," your contributor states: "There are some forms of religious belief with which, however sincerely they may be held, medical men cannot agree. Christian Science, for example, is opposed to all the assumptions on which the medical profession is based, and we recognize that we can have nothing to do with each other."

It is a gratifying fact that a number of men and women who were members of the medical profession have been receptive of the idea of spiritual healing, and, although considered successful medical practitioners, have forsaken their former methods and have adopted Christian Science. One reason they have done so is that they have seen results achieved through the practice of Christian Science which were not forthcoming through the practice of medicine.

This change from matter physician to metaphysician is in accord with Biblical precedent, for Luke was by profession a physician, but later became the trusted companion and fellow laborer of the Apostle Paul, who, through his understanding of the teachings of Christ Jesus, did many works of healing, and even raised the dead.
