Please permit me to say, with reference to the letter from...

Lytham Times and St. Annes Gazette

Please permit me to say, with reference to the letter from a correspondent in your issue of the 12th instant, that the statement to which he takes exception is completely justified when the nature of Mrs. Eddy's discovery is understood.

Mrs. Eddy, through spiritual illumination and revelation, discerned that God is ever operative divine Principle, forming and maintaining His children and His universe in harmonious relationship to Himself as spiritual ideas; also that human understanding of these great facts made possible the overcoming of sin, sickness, and mortality. In Mrs. Eddy's own words, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 272): "God is the divine Principle of all that represents Him and of all that really exists. Christian Science, as demonstrated by Jesus, alone reveals the natural, divine Principle of Science."

The demonstration of these truths in our time, in the healing of sickness and the overcoming of evil, linking up with the wonderful works revealed in the Old and New Testatments, proves the divine authority for Mrs. Eddy's interpretation.
