I thank God for the many blessings my family and I...
I thank God for the many blessings my family and I have received through Christian Science. Many physical ills, such as fevers, smallpox, influenza, burns, periodic sick headaches, constipation, internal ills, and many other errors have been destroyed through an understanding of Truth. I am very grateful for the help Christian Science has given me in the rearing of my three children.
For one of the many healings I am especially grateful. When the youngest child was about two years of age, she was playing near a stove on which was a vessel containing boiling water. This vessel was overturned, the contents falling on the child's head. My mother snatched the baby and handed her to me, telling me to know the truth. I had read in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, on pages 414 and 415, that "inflammation is fear, an excited state of mortals which is not normal." I held to the thought that Love is everywhere, and consequently there is no room for fear, until the demonstration was complete. No blisters, nor any trace of an accident, followed.
For almost twenty years after beginning the study of Christian Science we lived far from any Christian Science church or practitioner and relied solely upon our own understanding of God for all healings. I am deeply grateful for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for the Manual of The Mother Church, the Christian Science Hymnal, and all the authorized literature.—(Mrs.) Sidney Crain, Jackson, Mississippi.
