Working for World Peace

[Original article in German]

In view of the world problems with which governments, nations, and races are to-day confronted, largely as a result of the past war, there doubtless arises in many an individual the desire that he may not be inactive in these days of development and progress; and he may ask himself: What can I do to help? What can I contribute to the solution of these difficulties?

Events have emphatically proved how closely the happiness, welfare, and success of the individual are connected with the happiness and welfare of his country, and indeed with every country in the world. Hence the question as to how the individual can help is important enough to be closely considered. Christian Science teaches that if true peace and true understanding are to be realized the cooperation of each individual, whatever place he or she may occupy, is indispensable to the good of the many.

Let us consider first of all what the problem confronting mankind actually is. Since enmity between nations leads to impoverishment, we may logically conclude that love between nations opens the way to prosperity.
