The Lectures

Boston, Massachusetts (The Mother Church, noonday lecture).

Lecturer: Hon. William E. Brown; introduced by Miss Lucia C. Coulson, who said:—

One of the things which most appealed to me when I began the study of Christian Science was that it teaches that man is not the victim of circumstances, but their master. Now, at that time there were many conditions which I needed and longed to master, and I determined to put Christian Science to the test. The first thing I learned was that cause and effect are mental, both primarily and secondarily, that scientific right thinking will change and improve all circumstances whether they are domestic or financial. To make a long story short, Christian Science transformed my experience altogether. It gave me strength for weakness, happiness for discontent, plenty for lack. Above all, it gave me a God I could love and understand, who is not only Father, but also Mother, caring for us as a mother cares.
