I did not come into Christian Science for healing, although I was suffering from a pain in my side so that I could hardly walk across the room. When the way seemed darkest I was led into the home of a student of Christian Science. I was asked to read to her from our beloved textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I said I would do this if I were allowed to show how this book differed from the Bible. We started with the chapter "Footsteps of Truth," beginning on page 201, and before the chapter was finished I was able to walk a distance of two miles without even fatigue. Only those who have been unable to walk about at will can understand half the gratitude I feel.
I have also been healed of severe sick headaches, constipation, toothache, hemorrhages, and a bad temper by reading our textbook. With the help of a practitioner I was healed in two weeks of a fibroid tumor. Three children have been born without any pain or bad effects whatever. All are healthy and happy, and never have had medicine of any kind, for which I am extremely grateful. I am also grateful that by turning to our beloved Leader's writings we can solve our family problems. We cannot be too grateful for our dear Leader, who left us such a rich heritage in her writings, especially the Manual of The Mother Church.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; for class instruction; for all the periodicals and lectures, and for all the good this truth is doing for all the world.
