With a thankful heart I, too, want to tell of the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. About twenty years ago I suffered severely from stomach and bowel trouble. I was under medical care for a long time without receiving any help at all, so that I completely gave up hope of being healed. Then an acquaintance drew my attention to Christian Science, and by attending one of the instructive, helpful, and uplifting services I became convinced that this time I had found the true Physician, by whom I should be freed from my hopeless condition. Occasional treatment from a practitioner resulted in my complete healing in about two years; and this healing has been permanent.

Sincere study of our instructive literature taught me to see and understand that our true being is a matter of thought. Only through the acquisition of a right understanding of God, which brings holier, purer, and more loving thoughts into our consciousness, can true health be obtained and retained. This helpful teaching enables us to gain that true peace of mind which is of such inestimable help in human affairs. This peace is a lifting of one's self above all that is earthly and fleeting.

In business life, also, Christian Science has very often helped me, and without it I could not have done full justice to the increased demands made upon me. Christian Science has also helped me to work out harmony with business associates. I suffered much during the experience, but was also privileged to learn much. It was an opportunity to learn that we must turn away from appearances to fulfill the command "love thy neighbour as thyself." Only through loving thought and action could this problem involving resentment and hatred be solved harmoniously. The mesmeric thought repeatedly came to me to withdraw from the business; but thanks be to God, it was revealed to me in good time that the problem would not be solved that way, and that in another place I should suffer from the same conditions, perhaps in a worse form than before. I am particularly grateful for this experience, because it taught me that only through honest application of what has been learned is this beneficial teaching an ever present help.
