Love's Recompense

NEVA W. GEER

Be not discouraged! Love divine,
The sun of peace, will surely shine
Upon your life, and bring the rest
Which work well done at Love's behest
Must always bring.

In testing times look up, not down,
Nor view the world beneath a frown,
Nor doubt God's tender, loving care
Will work for justice where you fare —
Supply your needs.

Love always heals when there is trust;
So give in patience as you must
Your service true; nor doubt for you,
His law will work in all you do,
A just reward.

Expect it! Take it! Drop your care,
And know you do not have to bear
An unjust load; so leave it there.
Good work well done, your evening prayer,
Will bring but good.
