Care of the Body

FREQUENTLY when reading the ordinary daily papers, one finds considerable space given to articles which are supposed to enlighten the reader on the subject of bodily care. Many of these articles deal with diet, some of them discuss hygiene, and others advocate the use of various kinds of material medicine as a means of regaining and preserving health.

It is not an uncommon occurrence for colleges, medical schools, or Foundations to receive gifts of money for the purpose of assisting in the search for and discovery of a remedy for some particular bodily ill.

Many earnest men and women are engaged in the laudable effort to help their fellow mortals secure and retain health, strength, and bodily comfort. However commendable may be their desires and their unselfish efforts, the fact remains that so long as material means are considered the only remedy worthy of use little progress will thereby be made in the permanent removal of all disease.
