I became intrested in Christian Science when in a very depressed state of mind over the physical condition of my mother, who had been a semi-invalid for a number of years. A specialist and other doctors had told us her only chance was an immediate operation. Owing to her advanced years, and the fact that no encouragement was given as to the outcome of the operation, I became very despondent. I asked a friend who was a student of Christian Science if she thought it could help me to overcome anxiety and depression. She assured me it was just what I needed. I began very earnestly to seek the truth that would set me free. After a few days my mother consented to take up the study of Christian Science instead of being operated on. We sent for a practitioner, and after the second treatment my mother had a most beautiful proof of God's healing power. For almost twelve years after this my mother was here. She experienced many beautiful healings; also activity, joy, gratitude, membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, regular attendance at the church services, and a greater understanding of God and her relationship to Him. My father also was interested and became a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.

During these years I have had many healings. I have been healed of headaches, colds, bronchial trouble, tonsillitis, uncerated teeth, stomach trouble, sciatic rheumatism, and a fear of inherited tuberculosis. The fear of having to wear glasses has been overcome, and many minor troubles have left me. I am beginning to know the meaning of the statement which we read in the Bible, "Love thy neighbour as thyself;" for I am being healed of resentment, criticism, faultfinding, irritation, selfishness, dishonesty, false pride, and many other false beliefs which cause so much inharmony. In the business world I have proved many times that God's law governs. When my parents passed on, just three weeks apart, leaving me (to material sense) entirely alone, I was able, through the understanding of Christian Science, to feel the peace "which passeth all understanding," through a realization that Life is immortal.

I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings, and for the authorized Christian Science periodicals. I am grateful also for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, and for the many privileges I have of serving in the activities of the movement.
