I feel that I must express my deep gratitude for the blessings I have received through Christian Science. Whenever I have given a testimony of healing in a Wednesday evening meeting or have spoken of helpful experiences in this religion, I have noticed that I have been consequently much freer, happier, and healthier than when I wanted to speak but was held in my seat by some suggestion of fear from mortal mind. This proved to me how important it is to express gratitude, and to overcome the fear which keeps us fast in our seats.

As a child I was very frail, and suffered much from colds, weak lungs, and the painful after effects of pleurisy. In later years a nervous trouble developed of which I could not be permanently healed by the best doctors or through change of climate and rest. These illnesses were all overcome through Christian Science, for the most part through help from practitioners, not instantaneously but gradually in the course of a year. Ever more earnestly I plunged into the study of the Bible, with the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the other authorized Christian Science literature.

A painfully strained ligament in the left ankle was overcome entirely in thirty-six hours through the realization of God's omnipotence and love. On the day after the accident, in very hot weather, I tramped a long distance. At first the ankle pained me in walking; but I held fast to the truth, with the result that the pain subsided gradually, and on the following morning the foot was entirely normal.
