"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."...

"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Every day since I came into Christian Science has been one of progressive unfoldment into a clearer and fuller concept of the Christ, with its attendant joy.

My childhood was devoid of much of its natural beauty, my mother having passed on when I was but twelve years of age. My father, who lost faith in medicine and in the orthodox religion, passed on after much physical suffering before my education was completed. As I was a devoted student of the Bible, its promises were accepted and I searched the Scriptures for the way of Life, seeking "first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;" and I realized early in life the inability of material things to give happiness and that there could be none without a peaceful mind. Also, an intense longing possessed me to try to find a remedy which could be used by others, that they might be spared the sordidness which had been my early experience, and which I knew was unnatural. I am now grateful to see how quickly, during this period of research, methods were dropped which did not satisfy.

As soon as the study of Christian Science was begun, light flooded into my consciousness and I knew my wanderings were over. The hopelessness and loneliness left quickly, in the joyous realization of the ever-presence of my loving Father-Mother God. The bonds of a limited and restricted past were dissolved in the remembrance that all the good there ever had been was in the living present, and whatever was not good had really never been.
