In the following statement, "Religion had degenerated, and fantastic types of belief, such as spiritualism, Christian Science, and magical sacramentalism, had gained new vitality," contained in the article "Messages from Other World," published in your issue of August 16, a bishop is, if correctly reported, drawing on his imagination in so far as Christian Science is concerned. Christian Science, far from being fantastic, is essentially reasonable and scientific, being based on sound premises and capable of definite proof of its correctness in the healing of the sick and the sinning. It is the Christianity taught and practiced by Christ Jesus and his apostles, revived in this age, nothing more and nothing less. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, states on page 293 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Christian Science brings to light Truth and its supremacy, universal harmony, the entireness of God, good, and the nothingness of evil."
