I am most grateful for the blessings which have come to...
I am most grateful for the blessings which have come to us through the study of Christian Science. Some time ago my young nephew, aged ten, a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School, had a beautiful proof of the healing power of God, in a case of fractured bones. As I was going home one night from my place of business I was met on the way by one who told me of the accident. Immediately fear seemed to take possession of me; then came these words from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 424): "Under divine Providence there can be no accidents." I became calm and unafraid. I found the boy in great pain, his foot swollen and very black. The people with him had called a doctor, although the child had requested them not to and stated that as soon as he got home he would get a Christian Science practitioner. The doctor said the small bones in the foot were fractured. The boy had had his foot run over by the wheel of a heavy lorry, and the heel of his boot wrenched off, when he was endeavoring to climb on board.
The boy was taken home, and together we worked all night, but the next day we considered it advisable to ask help of a practitioner. Faithful work was done, and in twelve days my nephew was again attending Sunday school, although the doctor said it would be six weeks before he would be able to use his foot. Every argument which came up was destroyed, and the truth again demonstrated in a perfect healing.
We are most grateful to God, the Giver of all good, to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her wonderful life and all the blessings it has resulted in for the whole world, and to the practitioner for his sincere work.—(Miss) Victoria M. Gray, Camberwell, Victoria, Australia.
